SAOPS Autumn Edition: A Series to Remember


The cards have been dealt, the chips have been counted, and the dust has finally settled on what has been, without question, the greatest SAOPS in Pokerbet history.


Seven events. Seven nights of incredible poker. And a community that showed up and delivered beyond every expectation. From the first shuffle to the final hand, this series was something special and it wouldn't have been possible without every single player who took their seat at the virtual felt. This one's for you.


The Numbers That Say It All Before we get into the stories, let's take a moment to appreciate just how big this series was. Guarantees didn't just get met, they got obliterated. Night after night, the Pokerbet community showed up in numbers that pushed prize pools to levels we've never seen before. Here's a snapshot of what went down:

The Champions Every series has its heroes. This one had plenty.

Deepstack Champion 👑

JuicyJack got the series off to a flying start, claiming the Deepstack Championship for R178,750, setting the tone for what was to come.

Mini High Roller Champion 👑

iWhale announced himself in dominant fashion, winning the inaugural Mini High Roller Championship and banking a massive R209,800.50 in what was a debut event for the format. The reception alone confirmed this one's coming back.

High Roller Champion 👑

MandalaFish delivered one of the performances of the series, claiming the High Roller Championship for a career-defining R366,300. A night that won't be forgotten quickly on Pokerbet.

Freezeout Champion 👑

B2Bedlam captured the Freezeout Championship, while Tryharderfish took down the 6-Max Championship for R137,190, his second cash of the series, proving that consistency is indeed king.

6-Handed Champion 👑

R300K GTD 6-Max Championship absolutely smashed expectations once again, with the prize pool surging to R538,000 after 164 players hit the felt.

And then there was the Main Event...


Main Event Champion 👑

SpicedGoldKing crowned himself champion in the biggest SAOPS Main Event ever run, banking R539,438.75, the largest Main Event payout in SAOPS history. A historic moment for South African online poker. MuchoGusto (R310,716.72) and Rockyracoon (R183,409.18) completed an incredible podium.

Mini Main Champion 👑

Over in the Mini Main, idonlikeonions emerged from a field of 271 players to claim R63,236, with BadReg and SoSiffBru rounding out the top three.


A special shoutout to the punter who placed R100 on SpicedGoldKing pre-event and turned it into R4,000. That's the kind of night SAOPS is built for.


The Player of the Series Race

If the individual events were the main act, the Player of the Series race was the subplot that kept things interesting all week long.

AdAstra was the standout performer of the series, cashing in event after event and leading the POTS standings for the majority of the week. But poker has a way of keeping things dramatic, and late surges from KeepGoing and MuchoGusto, both making deep runs in the Main Event, saw them pip AdAstra in the final standings in a finish that went right down to the wire.

The full Top 8, each having cashed a minimum of three times across the seven events, now advance to a winner-takes-all Shootout Tournament for the coveted EPT Barcelona Package. Starting stacks will be weighted based on final standings, meaning every point earned throughout the week counts. Details on the Shootout date and format are coming soon, watch this space.
