Pokerbet honors the life and legacy of Joe-boy Rahme with a tribute tournament this Wednesday. All rake proceeds will be matched and donated to his beloved wife, Belinda.

The South African poker community has lost one of its most cherished figures. Joe-boy Rahme, a legend of the felt and a familiar face to anyone who ever sat at a table, passed away recently. His absence leaves a deep void, but his spirit lives on in every hand played and every story shared.
Joe-boy was more than a player. He was the soul of the room. Whether hosting friends at FAT JOE’S Grill Bar, his beloved restaurant that became a second home to many, or lighting up tournaments with his unmistakable energy, Joe lived poker with passion and joy. His life was well-lived in combination of friends, food, cards, and the biggest smile. Often, that smile was shared with Belinda, his wife and partner in everything.
Belinda was his anchor, his biggest supporter, and his constant companion. Their love was visible to all, whether sharing quiet moments at the bar or celebrating wins together. The community mourns with her and stands ready to honor Joe-boy’s memory in the way he would have loved most through the game.
This Wednesday, Pokerbet will host a R100,000 GTD Tribute Tournament in Joe-boy’s honor. All rake generated will be matched by Pokerbet and donated directly to Belinda, in recognition of the love and legacy Joe leaves behind. Leading up to the event, satellites will run to give as many players as possible the chance to take a seat, share stories, and celebrate the man who made poker feel like family.
Let’s fill the tables with love, laughter, and the spirit of Joe-boy Rahme. Let’s play for him.
Rest in peace, Joe-boy. You’ll always be in our hearts and forever in the game.
