Win a trip to Vegas with Pokerbet

As Mike McDermott says in the 1998 poker classic, Rounders, "First prize at the World Series of Poker is a million bucks. Does it have my name on it? I don't know. But, I'm gonna find out." Every poker player dreams of playing in the World Series of Poker, specifically the Main Event, the $10,000 No Limit Holdem Championship.

In 2003, Chris Moneymaker turned an $86 satellite on Pokerstars into the $2.5 million first prize in the $10,000 NLHE Main Event, changing the face of poker forever. The resultant boom of online poker, both globally and in South Africa, saw Piggs Peak Poker taking many local players to Vegas in the late 2000s.

Two of the Pokerbet Team, our CEO Darren Kramer and Head of Operations, Ryan Brauer, were some of the lucky recipients who won packages to the WSOP, leading to some memorable results, bracelets won, and dreams being realised.

Now it's our turn to repay the favour. Pokerbet is proud to announce the launch of our Win a Trip to Las Vegas with Pokerbet Competition, running from today, 15 March, through to 15 May 2023. Four of our most loyal Pokerbet players will win packages valued at R175,000 each to Vegas during this year's World Series of Poker.

How does it work?

• Players will be ranked according to rake generated from hands played during the promo period, 15 March to 15 May 2023.

  • The top 5 rakers in each tier (low-stakes, mid-stakes and high-stakes) will earn entry into a lucky draw.

  • Low-stakes: 10c/20c up to R3/R6

  • Mid-stakes: R4/R8 up to R20/R40

  • High-stakes: R25/R50 up to R200/R400

• One player from each of these tiers will be randomly selected and win the Vegas Package.

• The final winner will be drawn from a ranked list of total raked cash game & tournament (non-freeroll) hands played (not rake value) during the same period. The Top 20 in this list will be entered into the draw, with one player randomly drawn to win the final package.

What does the package consist of?

• Return Economy Airfare flights from South Africa to Las Vegas

• Accommodation for 12 nights at Paris Las Vegas

  • Event 70: $400 Colossus NLHE
